EMWD approves MWD service connection for future San Jacinto facility

The Eastern Municipal Water District will have a connection from the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California for Eastern’s Raw Water Conveyance Facilities Project. The Jan. 6 EMWD board meeting included a 5-0 vote to approve an interagency agreement with MWD for the service connection. MWD delegates the authority for a service connection agreement conforming to MWD policy to the general manager, and the EMWD service connection has been approved by Jeffrey Kightlinger, general manager of MWD. The agreement establishes the rates and charges for raw water, which are adjusted by MWD on an annual basis, as well as construction expense responsibility and conditions of the service connection.
