Dirt biker badly hurt in Lake Elsinore-area crash; pickup truck driver suspected of fleeing the scene

Authorities are searching for a driver who is suspected of fleeing from a crash on state Route 74 just east of Lake Elsinore that left a 24-year-old dirt biker seriously injured.The crash happened around 6:15 p.m. Wednesday on Route 74 at Hammack Avenue, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Mike Lassig.The man riding the Suzuki dirt bike — which had no lighting equipment — had been heading west in the No. 1 lane approaching Hammack just before the crash, Lassig said. The driver of a 2006 Ford F-250 coming from the opposite direction apparently did not see the bike and attempted a left turn onto Hammack, causing the bike to slam into the pickup truck's passenger side, Lassig said.Immediately after the crash, the driver of the F-250 parked in the roadway on Hammack
