Two people were transported to a local hospital following a traffic collision Tuesday morning near the intersection of Fairview Avenue and Sopwith Drive in the Valle Vista area of unincorporated Hemet.
Emergency crews responded to the incident, which was reported at 10:07 a.m. Initial dispatches indicated that specialized extrication might be required to rescue occupants trapped in the wreckage. However, upon arrival, firefighters were able to safely assist a patient out of the vehicle without the use of extrication tools.
Following the on-scene evaluation, two patients were transported to an area hospital with injuries of unknown severity.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation, and it is not yet clear how many vehicles were involved or if any traffic citations have been issued.
