Temecula to hold outreach meetings to go over budget priorities with city commissions

The city of Temecula added several outreach meetings between staff and city commissions in the coming weeks, as well as one with the city council, to gauge funding priorities and assist in developing the budget for fiscal year 2021-2022. Previously, the extent of city staff’s public engagement regarding the budget was to go over a proposed budget with the council in May and a final version in June. This year, staff added five meetings, one for each commission, in February and March based on feedback from Councilmember Zak Schwank at the end of the 2020-2021 budget development process, “encouraging additional public and council engagement earlier on in the budget process,” he said.
