Man allegedly flees deputies in stolen car, causing crash in Hemet
HEMET (CNS) - A 28-year-old man allegedly fled from sheriff's deputies in a stolen car in San Jacinto, triggering a chase that led into Hemet, where he hit multiple vehicles before coming to a stop and surrendering, authorities said Wednesday.Alonso Perez of San Jacinto was arrested and booked Tuesday into the Smith Correctional Facility in Banning on suspicion of felony evading, driving under the influence and possession of a stolen vehicle. Bail information was not immediately available.According to Sgt. Tom Mix of the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, Perez was spotted by a patrol unit at about 2:40 p.m. Tuesday in the area of Main Street and Mistletoe Avenue, allegedly at the wheel of a sedan that had been reported stolen hours earlier.Mix said that when deputies signa
