Dog dies in Menifee house fire that displaces family

A dog was killed in a house fire Tuesday, Feb. 9, in Menifee that also displaced a family of seven. Firefighters responded about 1:25 a.m. to the 31000 block of Larchwood Street and found heavy fire coming from the garage, according to the Riverside County Fire Department. The flames extended into the home, killing the dog and displacing two adults and five children before the fire was extinguished about 2:30 a.m. The cause of the fire was under investigation.
