HEMET - A fire that erupted today in a single-story house just east of Hemet spread rapidly through the structure, threatening adjacent residences, before crews got it partially contained.
There were no reports of injuries in connection with the blaze, which broke out about 1:35 p.m. near the intersection of Acacia Avenue and El Campo Place, in an unincorporated community known as Valle Vista, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The agency said multiple engine crews were sent to the location and encountered smoke and flames in several rooms of the 1,200-square-foot home.
Two men and two women occupying the property escaped unscathed, according to reports from the scene.
