Missing San Jacinto man’s body found in a Menifee Lake

MENIFEE - A 21-year-old San Jacinto man reported missing last week evidently drowned in a lake in Menifee, authorities said today. The body of Edwin Alvarez Soria was discovered submerged during a search of one of the man-made lakes at the Menifee Lakes Country Club Wednesday afternoon, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department. Sgt. Dawn Blair said deputies initiated a search for Soria last Saturday, after his relatives called 911 alarmed because they could not reach him by phone and had not seen him for over 48 hours. The investigation led to the Menifee Lakes community, where some of the victim's belongings were found Tuesday, according to Blair.
