Crash Between Two Big Rigs on I-15 Jams Traffic

LAKE ELSINORE (CNS) - A crash involving two big rigs caused a fuel leak on Interstate 15, jamming traffic on an eight-mile stretch of freeway in the Temescal Valley today. The collision occurred at about 7:45 a.m. on the southbound side of the freeway north of Lake Street, according to the California Highway Patrol. One of the trucks was hauling cars and was hit by another big rig, causing it to jackknife, the CHP reported. It was unclear if anyone was injured, but an ambulance was summoned to the scene. The crash caused a fuel leak and a hazmat team was on its way to the location but was stuck in traffic, the CHP said. In the meantime, a Sigalert was issued and the number two and three lanes were shut down, causing heavy delays between the crash site and Weirick Road. Copyright 2021
