Additional deputy added to San Jacinto law enforcement services agreement with county

The city of San Jacinto has a law enforcement agreement with Riverside County, and that agreement has been amended to add a sheriff’s deputy to the city.The 5-0 county Board of Supervisors vote Feb. 9 added two deputy sheriff positions assigned to problem-oriented policing activity while removing a deputy sheriff position assigned to the post-release accountability and compliance team. The budget adjustments increase the county’s fiscal year 2020-21 revenue from the city by $256,900 to cover the salary and benefits of the additional position.The amended agreement provides the city with four deputy sheriffs assigned to problem-oriented policing and 19.9 full-time deputy sheriff positions.
