Hemet City Council gives green light to $59 million in capital improvement projects

The Hemet City Council approved plans to complete $59 million in capital improvement projects on 60 projects over the next few years and asked staff to look into several new insurance plans for city vehicles and infrastructure.The council heard the CIP project plans for the second time after sending in back to staff to further explain a major San Jacinto Street pavement improvement project that could hold back some other planned projects.The staff reported the engineering and public works departments had collaborated in the requested review and brought back a solid list of projects that will carry the city forward while still maintaining fiscal responsibility with the available funds including the added San Jacinto Street improvements that includes some street work with the county
