After a delay brought on by the COVID-19 global pandemic, a new F45 Training facility that is located on the border of Murrieta and Wildomar, will be holding a celebratory Grand Opening event Saturday, April 24, from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.
The ‘F’ stands for functional training, and the sessions are usually no longer than 45 minutes. The F45 gyms are franchises, and though connected as a community, they are not part of a chain and not the same as big-box gyms. Most are family-owned, member-focused, and community-oriented.
Local residents, Brad and Cara Coonradt, who are the proud owners of the newest Murrieta North location, have had to deal with an all-new approach to opening their facility amidst a global pandemic. Brad, a senior marketing manager for Dick’s Sporting Goods, and Cara, a middle-school teacher in Menifee, said they originally planned to open their location in March of 2020, but had to put things off until their soft opening this past November.
“The most important thing has been to limit social interaction inside, and disinfect after every workout,” says Brad Coonradt. “We offered home workouts and trained outside for most of 2020, but we amassed a good following and now that it looks like the spread of COVID-19 in our community is decreasing drastically, our members and instructors are doing a great job at getting new clients to come in and check us out.”
For many, fitness is also connected to a safe place and a community, and the F45 gyms all adhere to strict safety measures. All F45 trainers are certified personal trainers that not only motivate members but also ensure proper form, challenge members to achieve their goals, and provide a fun energy-filled environment that makes each sweat session fly by.
“We have been doing everything needed to provide this essential service in a safe way, and the evidence from not only our location, but other F45 facilities as well, is that it’s working,” says Cara. “We place a high level of priority on our members, and we encourage community involvement, and we continuously celebrate the achievements and successes by all of our members and trainers.”
The workouts are fueled and organized by the robust technology systems that they have in place in all their studios. A series of TVs mounted on the front wall of the studios provide an organized, station-by-station diagram for each daily workout.
“F45 Murrieta North has helped me kick the excuses to the curb,” says Joanrae Miller, who is an RN from Menifee. “The team of coaches is comprised of some amazing beings and they have helped bring back my love for fitness. They hold us all accountable and they make working out fun and enjoyable. I really appreciate how the coaches don’t hesitate to modify exercises to challenge us, help us grow, and improve upon our abilities.”
With the guidance and motivation of the F45 trainers, this system is a visual tool for members to progress from exercise station to station throughout the workout. There is also an F45 Challenge app that includes on-demand, at-home training as well as nutrition guidance.
“We are so excited and proud to officially host our grand opening,” says Brad. “The public is welcome to tour the facility or even take part in a workout, which will be fueled by a live DJ. On top of our own giveaways and prizes, Nutrishop and Robeks Juice will also be on hand to provide members and guests with goodies and samples from their own companies as well.”
The Murrieta North location is at 36100 Hidden Springs Road, Suite A, and is currently open in the mornings and afternoons before and after work.
