Man to stand trial for allegedly gunning down acquaintance

RIVERSIDE (CNS) - A man accused of fatally shooting a 29-year-old acquaintance in Meadowbrook must stand trial for  murder and other charges, a judge ruled today. Stephen John Lindo, 29, of Meadowbrook allegedly killed Michael Louis Hinden of Riverside in October. Following a preliminary hearing, Riverside County Superior Court Judge Jacqueline Jackson found there was sufficient evidence to warrant a trial on the murder count, as well as a special-circumstance allegation of lying in wait and sentence-enhancing gun and great bodily injury allegations. The judge scheduled a post-preliminary hearing arraignment for June 14 at the Riverside Hall of Justice and left Lindo held without bail at the Byrd Detention Center in Murrieta.
