RCWD revises agriculture account policy

The Rancho California Water District approved a revised policy for agricultural water service accounts. A 7-0 RCWD board vote, April 8, approved the revisions. “What it’s meant to do is provide clarity,” Justin Haessly, water use efficiency and grants manager of Rancho Water, said. “The intention of the document was meant to be a simple source of information for our customers.” For an account to be eligible for agricultural service, the property must have at least 1 acre of agricultural products fully planted and irrigated for the purpose of commerce, trade, industry or feeding of livestock. Irrigated landscape along with water features such as ponds or swimming pools will be limited to 10% of the account’s agricultural acreage and to no more than 75,000 square feet. Only
