Justin Cooper expanded his lead in the AMA Supercross 250SX West series season points standings with a main event victory, April 13, at Atlanta Motor Speedway and a second-place finish, April 17, in Atlanta. The Menifee rider led all 11 laps of the April 13 main event, winning the race in 17 minutes, 58.102 seconds and finishing 7.206 seconds ahead of second-place rider Hunter Lawrence of Florida. Cooper finished 6.705 seconds behind Monster Energy/Star Racing Yamaha teammate Nate Thrasher of Tennessee in the April 17 main event. The West series also raced in Atlanta, April 10. Cooper’s second-place finish gave him 131 season points with Cameron McAdoo of Iowa placing third and concluding the night with 127 points. Lawrence was third with 118 points after the April 10 race.
