TEMECULA – The Wine Town Rollers (WTR), which is the Temecula Valley’s first roller derby league, want members of the community to step out of their comfort zone and try a new thing…Roller Derby!

“Come on out to the hockey rink at Ronald Reagan Sports Park (30875 Rancho Vista Rd.) Saturday May 15, at 10:00 a.m. and we will happily give you delicious donuts and all the information you ever wanted about roller derby,” says Media Director, Ellianna “Foxxxy Blocksy Brown” Jameson. “We are looking to grow our league and we have space for new skaters, skating and non-skating referees, officials, coaching assistants, photographers, videographers, and league volunteers.”

WTR is devoted to the hard-hitting world of women’s flat-track roller derby and is a full member league of the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA). The league is currently comprised of one local home team, in addition to the WFTDA charter travel team, the Whine Makers. WTR also has a 16-week Raisinette training program for new skaters learning skating skills and the game of roller derby, as well as a junior league for boys and girls ages 6-17.

“So, if you’ve ever wanted to see if derby is a fit for you, come find out,” exclaimed Jameson. “We think you might like it. Plus, you’ll inherit a whole mob of new friends.”

If you or anyone you know is interested in joining the league, email recruiting@winetownrollers.com for more information on becoming a skater with Wine Town, joining the officials crew, “The Law”, or becoming one of the integral volunteers that help keep this group running.
