Temecula’s District 2 Councilwoman Jessica Alexander is speaking out against those who are calling her racist following two city council meetings where she was singled out for her comments. Alexander, who is a freshman councilmember, found herself in some hot water over a statement she made during the April 13 city council discussion on returning to in person meetings drew a parallel between being forced to wear masks in order to meet in person and Rosa Parks making the decision to stand up and sit in the front of the bus. That comment garnered attention, from local, regional, national and international news, as well as late night TV shows. During the May 11 council meeting Mayor Pro Tem Matt Rahn chastised Alexander for an email she sent to Mayor Maryann Edwards and Temecula City
