One person dies in fatal crash on SR 371 in Cahuilla

CAHUILLA  - One person died today in a fiery crash that sent a car off the road and into a ravine in Cahuilla, a reservation about four miles west of Anza. The crash took place off Cahuilla Road (state Route 371), just east of the Cahuilla Casino, about 2 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. The car carried a single occupant, the CHP reported. It went off the road into a ravine, where it caught fire, setting some brush on fire as well, the CHP said. The fire was quickly doused by firefighters. The crash temporarily shut down SR 371 for the investigation and firefighting, the CHP reported.
