Fire near Diamond Lake a controlled burn

HEMET - A controlled burn got underway today near Diamond Valley Lake in an effort to eliminate nearly 40 acres of brush.   According to the Riverside County Fire Department, the burn began about 7 a.m. and concluded about noon east of the area of Domenigoni Parkway and Winchester Road.    Motorists and area residents were advised not to be alarmed by the drift smoke.    The goal of the operation is to eradicate both weeds and non-native grasses, and provide fir
