Woman struck, killed on railroad tracks in Corona

CORONA - A 24-year-old woman was struck and killed by a train after she apparently tried to cross railroad tracks in Corona, authorities said today. Kelly Goldberg of Corona was fatally injured at 3:55 p.m. Monday on Burlington Northern Santa Fe tracks near the Joy Street crossing. According to the Corona Police Department, Goldberg was hit by a freight train and died on impact. It was unclear whether she did not see the train approaching, or tried to make it across before it arrived. BNSF officials shut down the rail line for several hours after the fatality, which remains under investigation. Copyright 2021, City News Service, Inc.
