Fire Burns Hillside North of San Jacinto

SAN JACINTO - A brush fire that broke out today on a hillside just northeast of San Jacinto consumed about six acres and left a firefighter with minor injuries. The blaze broke out for unknown reasons about 1 p.m. less than a mile east of the intersection of Soboba Road and State Street, close to the Golden Era Golf Course in the community of Gilman Hot Springs, according to the Riverside County Fire Department. Multiple engine and hand crews were sent to the location and encountered flames burning upslope at a moderate rate through medium vegetation, but no homes or other structures were threatened.
