Rick MonroeSpecial to Valley NewsWith Fallbrook Winery being for sale (but not closing) and Monserate Winery opening in the next couple of months, there is much to celebrate about the flourishing Fallbrook Wine scene. In the winery business where “big players” are often complimented by a variety of other area boutique wineries and other unique styles, Fallbrook is no different. Currently, at least eight boutique (small, quality centric) wineries are operating in the Fallbrook area with several others on the way.In the wine industry, a winery producing less than 5,000 cases annually is considered a boutique. Most are family-run, limited-production, hand-crafted and artisan. Several potential wineries are awaiting permits and won’t operate for more than a year.Anoth
