Temecula City Council appointed two people to the city’s planning commission during its Aug. 10 meeting.Sixteen people applied for the two open positions which will run for a regular term beginning immediately and running through Dec. 31, 2023.Council heard from several of the applicants who were present at the meeting but ultimately decided to appoint Realtor Adam Ruiz and retiree Bob Hagel.“It was a wonderful candidate pool,” Mayor Pro Tem Matt Rahn said. “Thank you all for submitting applications.”Mayor Maryann Edwards encouraged the candidates not selected to apply for positions on other city commissions.“Don’t give up,” she said. “All the commissions are wonderful and it’s a great place to contribute, it’s a great place to learn, it’s a grea
