San Jacinto Valley students honored in September

The Hemet/San Jacinto Student of the Month program held its first recognition event of the new school year with a few changes. Seven local high school seniors were honored for demonstrating character, integrity, love of learning, involvement in school activities, athletics and community service. Students were nominated by teachers or other school personnel for making a difference in their homes, schools and community.The most notable and appreciated difference from this time last year was that the event was held in person and not via computer screens as has been the case for more than a year. Another change for the nearly 90 attendees was The Maze Stone at Soboba Springs Golf Course venue, which provided a wonderful breakfast buffet.Program founder and meeting facilitator Karena Ze
