Human remains found near Hemet intersection
HEMET (CNS) - A Hemet resident walking his dog stumbled onto skeletal remains, prompting an investigation by homicide detectives, though the circumstances remain unclear, authorities said Friday, Oct. 29.
The remains were located about 9 a.m. Thursday at the northeast corner of Domenigoni Parkway and Sanderson Avenue, according to Hemet police Sgt. Gabriel Gomez.
He said the resident immediately called 911, and officers cordoned off the area a short time later.
It was not immediately known how long the remains had been at the location, which is just south of the West Valley High School campus and just north of the North Hills Trail.
Riverside County coroner's officials were examining the remains, and additional details will be released as it becomes available, according to Gomez.
