MVUSD announces leadership retirements and subsequent administrative changes

MURRIETA – After serving for 35 years in education and 10 years as superintendent, Patrick Kelley, superintendent of Murrieta Valley Unified School District, announced his retirement at the end of the school year.“Under Superintendent Kelley’s leadership, Murrieta Valley USD consistently was recognized as the top district in the county, and one of the few designated ‘California Exemplary District’ in the state. He led the district with wisdom, compassion, strength, fairness and deeply cared for the Murrieta community” board President Linda Lunn said. “Even though Mr. Kelley is remaining local in his retirement, he will be dearly missed at the district.”In an open letter to the community, Kelley said that he never imagined the “true blessing” that MVUSD and the
