What to do when the Christmas tree comes down

After the Christmas celebrations end and things are being stored away for another year, don’t forget to wisely dispose of your Christmas tree. Natural Christmas trees can be recycled and made into useful mulch or compost. Residents are encouraged to recycle trees to save valuable landfill space. For residents living in areas serviced by CR&R Environmental Services, the following recommendations have been provided. Collection of natural Christmas trees will be available from Dec. 27 through Jan. 7, 2022. All ornaments, tinsel and lights need to be removed along with any tree stand to prepare them for recycling.
