Murrieta Mayor Vinton Officially resigns; Ingram is appointed new mayor

Councilmember Jonathan Ingram was appointed to serve as mayor of Murrieta for 2022 after a farewell ceremony to outgoing Mayor Scott Vinton Dec. 21. Ingram, who represents the 1st District, served as mayor in 2018 and has been on council for seven years. Vinton, who is moving to Tennessee, resigned in his third year of a four-year term on the dais. Councilmember Lisa DeForest was appointed mayor pro tem. Ingram told the Valley News in a written statement, “I am humbled to be mayor. Once again, I am deeply invested in the long term successes of our community. I plan to continue to bring my long standing traditions of communication, cohesion, and transparency to my role and ensure that all those who live, work and visit our city feel they are an essential part of our community.” Vi
