LAKE ELSINORE - A woman was struck and killed today on the 15 Freeway in Lake Elsinore.
The crash happened Sunday about 5:40 p.m. on the northbound 15, just south of Nichols Road, according to the California Highway Patrol it appears the woman was walking along the side of the freeway when she was hit, the CHP reported. The woman died at the scene. Her name was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
It's unclear if the person who hit the woman remained at the scene.
