MENIFEE (CNS) - A woman who was struck and killed when she attempted
to cross Highway 74 in Menifee was identified today. Carla Luxhilario, 20, was fatally injured about 9:20 p.m. Tuesday at the 74 and Trumble Road, according to the Coroner's Bureau of the Riverside County Sheriff's Department. Her city of residence was unknown.Capt. Chris Karrer of the Menifee Police Department said Wednesday the woman now identified as Luxhilario was on the south side of the highway when she stepped into lanes to cross to the north curb."This side of the intersection is posted `No Pedestrian Crossing' and
