Meeting occurs as fighting between two sides intensifies and the Ukrainian president seeks tougher UN action

John Solomon from Just the News is reporting that Ukrainian and Russian officials agreed today, Sunday, to meet near the Belarus border as Vladimir Putin provocatively placed his nuclear forces on high alert.

Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelinsky’s office confirmed the meeting in a message posted on the social media app Telegram.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has reportedly put his nuclear deterrent forces on high alert as Ukraine arms its citizens for urban warfare and anti-war protesters are demonstrating in Russia against their own government and being arrested.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is demanding Russia be stripped of its voting power as a member of the UN Security Council and filed a petition for an emergency hearing at the international body’s highest court.
