Blaze south of Corona quickly stopped by Cal Fire aircraft
CORONA (CNS) - A wind-driven brush fire that erupted today southeast
of Corona was quickly contained by Cal Fire aircraft and firefighters, with the
flames consuming less than an acre.The non-injury brusher was reported about 10:30 a.m. in the area of
Eagle Canyon and Cajalco roads, less than a mile east of Interstate 15,
according to the Riverside County Fire Department.A Cal Fire air tanker was the first to reach the location, and
according to reports from the scene, the tanker immediately went to work
dropping fire retardant, preventing the blaze from jumping several roads,
despite intense Santa Ana winds.The fire's forward rate of spread was halted by 11:10 a.m, and full
containment was achieved minutes later, officials said. No homes or other structures were threat
