HEMET (CNS) - A convicted felon was shot during a confrontation with
Riverside County sheriff's deputies and other law enforcement officers after a
chase in Hemet, authorities said today.Edgar Alejandro Solis, 35, of Hemet suffered a non-life-threatening
wound about 4:15 p.m. Wednesday in the 600 block of Hillmer Drive, near Menlo
Avenue, according to the sheriff's department.Sgt. Edward Soto said that Gang Task Force investigators were
searching for Solis, who had outstanding felony warrants for alleged
carjacking, robbery and transportation of drugs for sale.Soto said that when deputies spotted the convicted felon sitting in a
