RIVERSIDE (CNS) - A Riverside officer was hurt today arresting a man who was allegedly high on drugs and throwing himself into traffic.
The incident began around 3:40 p.m. when paramedics went to a gas station at the intersection of La Sierra and Indian avenues to help a man who reportedly was having trouble breathing, the Press Enterprise. reported.
When they got there, the man fled the station and ran into traffic, hitting cars and trying to jump through their windows, the newspaper reported.  The man then ran onto the carpool of the 91 Freeway, where he was finally arrested. He reportedly told police he was using methamphetamine and PCP, the paper reported.
The officer's injuries were minor and he was not hospitalized, a Riverside Fire Captain told the newspaper.Copyright 2022
