MURRIETA (CNS) - A felon accused of running over and killing a 71-year-
old woman on a sidewalk in Murrieta while he was drunk at the wheel was
charged today with DUI gross vehicular manslaughter and fleeing the scene of a
crime.Rodney Wayne Phillips, 57, of Hemet, allegedly plowed into Gloria Ann
Henry of Murrieta as she walked along Clinton Keith Road, just east of Via
Mariposa, Wednesday morning.Phillips is being held in lieu of $75,000 bail at the Byrd Detention
Center in Murrieta and was slated Friday afternoon to make his initial court
appearance at the nearby Southwest Justice Center.According to Murrieta police Lt. Spencer Parker, about 8:10 a.m.
