Motorcyclist killed in crash with stopped van was traveling 80-plus mph

LAKE ELSINORE (CNS) - A 34-year-old motorcyclist killed in a collision with a stopped van on the Ortega (74) Highway near Lake Elsinore was traveling over 80 mph at the time of impact, the California Highway Patrol said today.Javier Hernandez Segura of Murrieta was fatally injured about 11 a.m. Sunday on the eastbound side of the highway, just east of South Main Divide Road, according to the CHP.Officer Mike Lassig said that Segura was riding a 2006 Suzuki GSXR motorcycle and was "observed traveling at speeds in excess of 80 mph'' moments before the crash.The CHP spokesman said that a 52-year-old San Clemente man at the wheel of a 2008 Econoline van came to a complete stop on the eastbound Ortega to make a "legal left turn into a private parking area'' just prior to Se
