Riverside County Superior Court extends application date for Civil grand jury applicants

The County of Riverside Superior Court has extended the application deadline for qualified individuals interested in serving as civil grand jurors. The new deadline according to the county website is May 13.If selected, each juror will receive per diem (non-taxable) wages, including mileage. The time of service is from July 1, 2022, to June 30, 2023.All 58 counties in California use a select group of local residents to participate as jurors annually. The jurors’ duties include, but are not limited to, investigating the operations of county government, researching matters of civic concern and performing inquiries into public offenses.At Murrieta’s April 5 City Council meeting John Hunneman, who has served on the grand jury, spoke to the dais about the need for applicants.
