Pickleball players from Temecula addressed the city council during the public comment session Tuesday, April 12, requesting staff support their desire to form a committee to address complaints and further support the popular game.Pickleball has become the fastest-growing sport in the nation and in Temecula. According to the Sports & Fitness Industry Association in 2022, the Sports, Fitness and Leisure Activities Topline Participation Report showed there were more than 4.8 million participants in the United States, a growth of 39.3% over the last two years. Pickleball was officially announced as the fastest-growing sport in America for the second year in a row.The sport grew in popularity during the COVID-19 pandemic.
