Public Safety Power Shutoffs may occur during certain weather events

The policy of de-energizing certain electric grids to prevent wildfires has become part of the reality of living in fire country. Called a Public Safety Power Shutoff, it is a strategy to help avoid utility structure-caused blazes from erupting in fire prone areas.Fortunately, in the Anza Valley, power shutoffs have not occurred. But it is important to understand what a PSPS is and what leads the utility providers to implement it.According to Southern California Edison, a Public Safety Power Shutoff may occur when there is a high risk for a wildfire.
