Issa takes early lead in 48th Congressional District, Calvert in tight race to retain seat

According to early voting results in the June 7 primary election, 48th Congressional District Representative Darrell Issa is poised to retain his seat representing southern Californians in the U.S. House of Representatives. Issa currently holds 56.5% of the vote compared to his closest challenger Stephen Houlahan who has 31.2% of the vote.Matthew Rascon (10.6%) and Lucinda Jahn (1.7%) are also vying for the seat.Meanwhile in California's 41st District, incumbent representative Ken Calvert is in a closely contested race with challenger Will Rollins.
