HOMELAND (CNS) - A grass fire that erupted today north of Highway 74 in Homeland blackened about an acre and damaged two vehicles parked outside a home before it was stopped.The non-injury blaze was reported at about 10:50 a.m. in the area of Amanda Avenue and Gilchrist Street, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.The agency said that multiple engine crews were sent to the location and encountered flames burning through parched grass adjacent to a residential property.The fire reached the two cars but did not damage the home, according to officials at the scene.Crews stopped the blaze's forward rate of spread at 11:20 a.m. and completely encircled the brusher minutes later.
