Cahuilla and Howard fires incinerate several acres in Anza

A wildland fire was reported in Anza near Cary Road and State Highway 371 at 10:22 a.m. Saturday, June 11. Dubbed the Cahuilla Fire, Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department responded immediately.Air Attack 112, T72, T100 and Helitack Copter 106 battled the blaze, along with fire crews on the ground. Social media came alive with traffic reports, photos, videos and news.By 11:15 a.m., one lane of Hwy. 371 was closed in the emergency area.
