MENIFEE (CNS) - The Riverside County coroner's office today identified
the 8-year-old boy who was riding a scooter in a residential area in
Menifee when he was fatally hit by a vehicle.The collision was reported about 7 p.m. Sunday in the 29000 block of
Shadow Hills Street, a residential cul-de-sac east of Menifee Road, according
to the Menifee Police Department.Investigators believe the boy was riding a scooter near the front yard
of a home when he entered the roadway and was struck by a vehicle traveling
westbound on Shadow Hills.Despite lifesaving efforts by a witness, responding officers and
paramedics, the boy was pronounced dead at the scene.He was identified as Evans Phillips of Menifee, the coroner's office
