TEMECULA – The Temecula Valley Players will present “West Side Story” as its 2022-2023 40th anniversary celebration season debut Sept. 2, 3, 7, 8, 9, 10, 14, 15, 16, & 17, at 7:30 p.m. and Sept. 4, 11, & 18, at 2 p.m.Shakespeare's “Romeo and Juliet” is transported to 1950s New York City as two young, idealistic lovers, Tony and Maria, find themselves caught between warring street gangs, the “American” Jets and the “Puerto Rican” Sharks. Their struggle to survive in a world of hate, violence and prejudice is one of the most heart-wrenching and relevant musical dramas of the time.
