Sheriff’’s Department assists in Fairview fire evacuation efforts

Riverside County Sheriff’s Department personnel played an integral part in the mandatory evacuations in Anza, Aguanga and Lake Riverside Estates during the Fairview Fire. The blaze, first reported Monday, Sept. 5, devoured almost 30,000 acres and prompted extensive mandatory evacuations for many small rural communities and Temecula wine country.“There are currently 79 deputies deployed to the Anza/Aguanga area,” Sergeant Brandi Swan, Public Information Officer with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department’s Media Information Bureau, said Friday, Sept. 9.California Highway Patrol was also in the area providing road closures and CalFire/Riverside County Fire Department and numerous other fire agencies, both state, local and federal, battling the blaze.
