MURRIETA – One person was taken into custody in Murrieta today after a standoff that lasted for hours and prompted police to advise residents in the Las Brisas area to remain inside their homes.
The Murrieta Police Department advised the public at about 10 a.m. Sunday that an investigation was underway in the area of Calle San Vicente and Calle San Clemente involving a heavy presence of officers. Residents were asked to stay in their homes and the public was urged to avoid the area.
At around 12:20 p.m., a police SWAT team arrived on the scene.
At 1:46 p.m., police said that “the situation has been safely resolved with one subject taken into custody.”
