According to Sgt. Deirdre Vickers, a department spokeswoman, Riverside County sheriff’s deputies pulled over the car at about 1:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24, which contained a 44-year-old man from Fresno and a 56-year-old man from Clovis, who had felony warrants out for their arrest.

“Out of concern that the suspect’s car was loaded with bombs, deputies arrested the men, one of whom was sought for explosives violations in Fresno,” Vickers said. “The determination was then made to evacuate a Temecula neighborhood immediately after the arrests were made.”

Roads in the area of Temecula Parkway and Kevin Place were closed and homes and businesses were emptied from about 1:30 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. while the sheriff’s Hazardous Device Team inspected the car and found nothing dangerous inside.
