Three People Arrested During Lake Elsinore DUI Checkpoint

LAKE ELSINORE  – Three people were arrested for allegedly driving under the influence at a DUI checkpoint in Lake Elsinore, authorities said today.
The checkpoint was conducted between the hours of 8 p.m. Friday and 2 a.m. Saturday on Railroad Canyon Road and Church Street, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
Authorities screened 1,051 cars, 17 drivers were cited for allegedly driving without a license, and five were cited for allegedly driving with a suspended license.
A total of 12 vehicles were towed, and a total of 54 citations were issued.
Three people were arrested for allegedly driving under the influence and five misdemeanor arrest warrants were served, according to the sheriff’s department.
Funding for the checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
