OJAI, CA — A 5.1 magnitude earthquake rocked areas southeast of Ojai on Sunday at 2:41 p.m., followed by at least four aftershocks with magnitudes ranging between 3.1 and 3.6, the United States Geological Survey reported. The tremors were felt across Los Angeles and Orange counties, alarming residents.

The seismic activity came as the Southland was already preparing for Tropical Storm Hilary, prompting flash flood warnings in the greater Los Angeles region.

No immediate injuries or damages were linked to the the quake seemed to be preceded by foreshocks starting Saturday morning. Additionally, the National Weather Service confirmed there was no anticipated tsunami threat related to the event.
