MENIFEE (CNS) – A boy suspected of making threats against fellow students at Paloma Valley High School in Menifee was under arrest today.
The teenager, whose identity was not disclosed due to his age, was taken into custody and booked into Southwest Juvenile Hall in Murrieta Thursday on suspicion of making criminal threats.
According to the Menifee Police Department, a campus resource officer at Paloma Valley, located in the 31300 block of Bradley Road, received word that the suspect had “made threats toward other students at the school,” prompting an investigation.
Officers visited the youth’s home, confirming he did not have access to firearms, but his “threats were deemed credible” anyway, the police department stated.
The teen was taken into custody without incident.
The specific comments made by the student, and his alleged motive for making them, were not disclosed.
“The Menifee Police Department is committed to working closely with school administrators to ensure students have a safe place to learn and grow,” the agency said.
